Self care is a priority that is often forgotten, especially in the middle of our day to day lives. It is important that we stop, take a break and focus on our mental wellbeing.
Here are a few ways to incorporate SELF-CARE:
Take some deep breaths
Help yourself to remain calm and stress free by taking a few deep breaths. This will not only increase your energy, it will also help with digestion, correct posture and detoxify the body! It's a win win.
Drink a glass of water
This is an obvious one, but often forgotten! We should be drinking on average 2L of water per day. Invest in a cute drink bottle that you know you can take everywhere!
Do some stretches
Now this might sound crazy but stretching is not only good for our physical health, but our mental wellbeing also. Stretching helps with flexibility, posture, increased energy and a calmed mind.
Spend 5 minutes organising
A messy space creates a messy mind. There's something about organisation that just puts the mind and body to ease. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to run around crazy for 5 minutes trying to clean up your bedroom, this might be to organise your daily tasks for work or schedule your meals for the week. Whatever it is, I'm sure you will thank yourself later.
Write down 3 things you are grateful for
Gratitude Journaling is something not often spoken about. Writing down 3 simple things you are grateful for is not only amazing for your mental health, but it can also lower stress and help you get a better nights sleep!
Say affirmations out loud
Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to overcome negative thoughts you may have. If you repeat them often, you will start to believe it!
